A better way to make money with affiliate products is to develop your own blog or website. These can be found for free online. Once your site is set-up, find a good autoresponder and put a sign-in box on every page of your site. Instead of driving traffic directly to your affiliate merchants, send all of your traffic you generate directly to your website or blog to subscribe.

Encourage your visitors to sign-in by giving them a free report that is related to your niche. If you cannot make your own free report, look for them on the Internet. There are many good free reports available if you are willing to do the research. Then, on a regular basis, send additional information to your subscribers. Interspersed with your free information, send them sales pieces on the affiliate products that you are recommending. That way, if they decide not to buy anything today, you will have another opportunity to make a sale with the next sales piece that you send out.

Make sure you take care of the people on your list. Never recommend a lousy product to them. By provide them with quality information and good product offers; you will build a relationship with them. This relationship will lead to increased sales and referrals in the future.

The easiest way to find a hot product in weight loss would be to go to www.clickbank.com and search the marketplace. There are a couple of factors to keep in mind. One, look for a product that is popular and has a high percentage of affiliate sales. What that means is the product is selling well and most sales are created by affiliates indicating that the product owner has a good sales page and isn’t competing heavily with his affiliates.
Secondly, there are two web sites, one free and the other offers a free trial that gives you a ton of metrics or statistics. www.cbtrends.com and www.cbengine.com are excellent places to look for that golden affiliate program.
They offer insider info as well as Popularity Rank, Gravity, Earned Per Sale, Percent Per Sale, Commission, or Referred values. Armed with this inside knowledge you are ready to find the ‘perfect’ product to promote.
Next, create a landing page or review page. It doesn’t have to be more than a couple of paragraphs but should offer something to make you stand out from the rest of the affiliates. A time-limited offer or a bonus of value are two ways to separate yourself and help the prospect to click on your link rather than someone else’s.
There are many ways to start getting sales. Free ways and those that cost some bucks.
A few of the free ways are blogs, forum posting, article writing and sending an email to your list.
Those that are worthy of your hard earned money are:
Newsletters and pay per click search engines.
Make sure you check out the newsletter first. Subscribe and see how many ads are in each issue and ask what the wait time is for your solo ad. Only use solo ads.
The top ppc’s are of course, Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing (formerly Overture). You can start to get hits or clicks to your landing page with a 15 minutes with adwords. Make sure you understand how to find keywords (use only the most direct keywords to test your campaign). Also how to write attention getting headlines and since you only get 25 characters per line, how to get people to click through.
These are the easiest and fastest ways to start making money with other people’s products.

Making money online with affiliate programs actually has very little to do with the affiliate products. After you’ve completed your research to determine which products you want to promote, your involvement with the product ends. From that point on it is all about traffic. To be successful using affiliate products, you need to focus on sending traffic to the merchant’s sale page. Period.

Most affiliate products convert at about 1 percent. That means for every 100 targeted visitors that see the product, only 1 will make a purchase. Many people try to diversify their Internet business by recommending eight or even ten different affiliate products.

Although this may sound like a good business strategy, it can make it very difficult to make money in the beginning, particularly if you only do this part time.

Over the past 7 days, I’ve sent a total of 848 visitors to the affiliate programs that I promote. Out of those 848 visitors, 7 of them made purchases. I’m able to do those kinds of numbers because I do this full time. If you are only working part time, you might only be able to get one tenth as much traffic.

If you are sending a total of 85 visitors a week split among 9 different affiliate programs, it might take you almost three months before you generate your first sale. Most people will give up long before that time and, as a result, they will never make money online.

If you are working this business part time, and you want to make money using affiliate products, use just one or two reasonably priced affiliate products. Focus all of your marketing efforts on these products. Using this strategy, you might expect to make your first sale in two to three weeks. But, in order to do this, you have to market aggressively. You should write articles, post on forums, use some form of outside advertising (even if it is free), and post ads on your site. Of course, this is not a complete list. But the point is, you need to use a variety of strategies to direct traffic to your merchants. By doing this, you can start making money online using affiliate products.

Only as you begin to generate some profits, should you add another product. Using these techniques, you will slowly but surely increase the amount of earnings you produce from affiliate products.

An extremely effective, low cost and low risk way of making money from your blog is to promote other people’s products as an affiliate. By merely linking to the merchant’s website with a special link provided by them, you can make commissions over and over again as your blog grows in traffic and popularity.
Although you can promote both physical and digital products, I prefer the latter as they typically pay more commissions and are easier to sell. Here are a few ways that I have personally used to make $500 – $2,000 in sales of affiliate products every month from my blog:
1) Interview The Product Owner
Who better to answer questions and clarify doubts on a certain product than the owner himself? By arranging for an interview with the owner or a representative, you get to be the middle-man and ask the most important question on behalf of your blog readers.
You can conduct interview easily using Skype and a recording software that integrates with it. Once recorded, you need to do some minor editing using Audacity, a free audio editing software. If you’re using Wordpress as your blog platform, you can easily install some podcasting plugins and get the whole thing up easily.
The key to selling affiliate products using podcast interviews is to ask the right questions. It works much better if you’ve already bought and used the product, so you’re familiar with how it works and any limitations it has.
During the interview itself, make sure you mention your affiliate link. Also write a short description of the podcast on your blog post and put your affiliate link there.
2) Write a Complete Product Review
This is not something new, but it’s rarely done by most of the new affiliate marketers I’ve come across promoting my own products and other people’s products that I happen to be promoting as well.
A product review is not a sales pitch, so avoid making it sound like you’re totally in love with the product. If it’s really that good, maintain your enthusiasm but do let your readers know on it’s limitations as well.
To increase the clicks on your affiliate links, include screenshots of the product (if it’s a software) to let people get an insider’s view of how it works and the results that can expect from it.
If it’s an e-book or information product, let others know the results you’ve observed and recorded from using the techniques or secrets mentioned. Everyone loves something that works, but most people will wait to see if it works for others before deciding to buy it.
3) Presell With a “How To” Article
A “How To” article teaches people how to solve a specific problem or achieve a specific result. In your article, start with the problem or desired outcome, and give specific step and action that need to be taken to solve it.
Somewhere towards the end of the article, mention about how a specific software can help your readers automate or skip some of the steps mentioned in your article. Once people have discovered the solution, they still may not want to do it all by themselves. If the software you’re talking about helps them do it faster or easier, they will definitely consider buying it.
Your goal is to presell the benefit of using the software, and lead them to the affiliate product page. Don’t make your article a sales pitch or this method will not work as well. People want to buy, but they don’t want to be “sold”.
Try to work on a Wordpress platform as your blogging tool, as it allows you much more control and flexibility in promoting affiliate products, especially when your “catalog” of affiliate products grows significantly.
Using these three strategies alone, you can make a significant income promoting affiliate products. Focus on these and affiliate marketing from your blog becomes so easy you won’t believe the results.

If you are just starting your online business, you are probably using (at least you should be using) affiliate products for some portion on your business. If you are marketing your business writing articles, you are certainly familiar with the author’s resource box. This is the section of the article where you include links to your website, blog, of products that you are promoting.

But what kind of links is best and how many should you use? I find that it best to use a total of three links. One link, usually the first, should direct viewers to the squeeze page on your site. This link will attract new subscribers onto your list and insures that your business will continue too grow. I suggest that you use the remaining two links to direct people to either your own product or affiliate products that you are recommending. If you are just starting out, you probably don’t have your own product, so in that case, you should use two links to affiliate products.

But you should NEVER use a link pointing directly to the merchant’s sales page. This will cause problems and a loss of business in the future. Why is that? On a regular basis, all but the best affiliate products disappear. This is normal. Merchants withdraw products for many reasons. It can be because of lagging sales, or the product has become obsolete, or a thousand other reasons. But whatever the reason, you should know that it happens on regular basis.

How does this affect you? If you’ve submitted 100 articles to 25 different directories promoting an affiliate product that has disappeared, those articles are now worthless to you. And it is almost certain that you don’t have the time to edit those worthless articles.

To prevent this from happening to you, you should link your affiliate products through a re-direct page on your website. That way, if an affiliate product goes out of business, it is an easy matter to find a very similar product and alter your re-direct page so that it links to the new affiliate product. That way, all of your work is not lost.
