PostHeaderIcon How to Identify a Winning Affiliate Product to Promote Online

Affiliate marketing is not rocket science, it’s simply a recipe. But like in all recipes you need to use the right ingredients and follow the instruction.

When it comes to affiliate marketing the primary ingredient is the product or service you want to sell. Your website development and all you marketing efforts will be built around this product. So, it’s essential that you take the time to select it wisely.

You just have to do a simple search only to discover that there are thousands of products or service you can choose from. Variety is good thing when the products you want to promote are of equal quality. But it can become very confusing when a lot of the products offer no real benefits to your potential customer.

So, to identify a winning product, the secret is to analyze it, and look for the following:

1- Make sure the site is well organized and easy to navigate. Potential customers will only remain on a site for 30 seconds before they move to another one. This means that if the site doesn’t grab the attention is the first few seconds, the customer will walk away.

2- How many steps are there before customer are taken to the order now process. The idea is to make sure it will be easy for anyone to place an order.

3- Does the product you’re about to promote offers a strong money back-guarantee. This point alone is a must to build the confidence of any potential customer.

4- Do they offer you affiliates tools or tips to help you promote the product. I personally like to work with companies that offer tools to help me going. If they have tools in place it means they are serious about helping their affiliates succeed.

Taking the time to research and analyze products properly, will make your selling job much more easier.

PostHeaderIcon Setting Up a List Building Page to Sell Your Affiliate Product

If you’re into Internet marketing as an affiliate for someone else’s program, how are you advertising your opportunity? I mean, are you just putting out the same old stale page that everybody else uses, or are you building your own page and list building at the same time?Unless it’s specifically stated in your affiliate agreement, and the means you use isn’t illegal, such as spamming, you can use any means to sell a product. Generally, affiliate pages, emails, and so on are there for your convenience. They at least get 80% of the people moving, who might otherwise take no action at all. Here’s the thing: 20% of the people will be active affiliates, and they’re having greater success because they’re treating the affiliate program as part of their own businesses. They’re more creative, they get more sales, and everyone’s happy.Setting up a list building page to sell your affiliate product is something you should take action on. Give a review of the product away on your list building page, to entice people to sign up for your list. If you’re going to do that, be sure that you can stand behind the product, that you have used it, and proved that it works. The review can be 250 words or less.Your review should include information on the features that benefit the user. It should also give the cons of the product. Nothing is 100% great. Usually, there are small things that you would change, if you had a magic wand. Let people know those, too. If your review is too glowing, it won’t seem real. Make it real. Here’s what I mean:Internet marketing expert, Tellman Knudson’s My Fist List is an easy step-by-step list building information product for new Internet marketing businesses. You will learn how to set up your own domain and web hosting services so that you can get your list building pages onto the Web quickly and easily. For more details logon to www.list-management-secrets.com. It also teaches you to build those squeeze pages without messing with cumbersome HTML. The best part is how to find a reliable autoresponder and how to set it up to make money for you on autopilot. My First List takes all the thinking and questioning out of list building for you.The only drawback that some might see is that you will need to spend money to get the system working, but you know what they say, “You have to spend money to make money.” And in my experience, paid is always better than free. But the very best thing about this system is that it works! I’ve tried it, and am making money with it already, though I just bought it last week. How great is that? If you want more information about My First List, just fill in your first name and email address and we’ll get it to you right away. For more information visit to www.mailing-lists-profit.com. This might not be as good example an example as a straight affiliate page because an affiliate link for My First List would lead to another squeeze page. People might be shy about opting-in twice before they even see what the product is about, unless they’re very excited by your review. However, if the product you’re selling has a sales page or it’s just to their main website, writing something like this and adding it to a list building shouldn’t be a problem. This is just an example.Anyway, after they opt-in to your list and confirm their membership, the first autoresponder message should be a “thank you” page. Also give people a bit more information about the product or Internet marketing program, and an opportunity to buy or join by including your affiliate link. This is very easy to do and you should always be list building, any way you can.

PostHeaderIcon Promoting Expensive High Ticket Affiliate Products

There are endless different products you can promote as an affiliate marketer. You can promote products costing a few dollars that pay you small commissions per sale, or you can promote high end expensive products which pay much larger amounts per sale, so should you concentrate on just promoting these high ticket items?
Well if you’re a person new to affiliate marketing and are still learning all the necessary skills such as how to make websites, drive traffic to your website, build a list, etc, then you should simply aim to get some sales under your belt. Therefore it’s best in this situation to concentrate on promoting quality products in the lower price range because once you start seeing some sales roll in, you know you are on the right track.
Once you have some experience of selling a number of products as an affiliate, you can move on to the next step – promoting high ticket products. This will dramatically boost your income if you do it correctly because in certain niches conversion rates for these top end products can be on a par with those of lower end products. In other words you will earn far more commissions for the same amount of effort.
The key to success lies with your methods of promotion. Placing random banners on your website or blog, or sending untargeted traffic to your affiliate links is unlikely to result in high conversions. Much more effective promotional methods include pre-selling through your email list, offering a bonus to people who buy through your affiliate link, and offering a personal review of the product you’re promoting.
So don’t be put off from promoting expensive products because you think that you are unlikely to make many sales due to the high price. You will often find that you can achieve excellent conversions for even the most expensive products, providing the product itself is of the highest quality of course.
You can also make a lot more money from even a modest conversion rate than you would promoting popular low-end products. For example let’s say you send 100 visitors to two different products. One costs $30 and pays $15 per sale, and one costs $400 and pays $150 per sale.
If you were to achieve an excellent conversion rate of 10% on the cheaper product, this would equate to 10 sales and $150 in commissions. You would need just 1 sale out of the 100 people you referred to the other product’s sales page, ie 1%, to make the same amount of commission. Furthermore a conversion rate of 1.5% would result in an extra $75, and a 2% success rate would equate to $300 in sales – an extra $150.
These are exaggerated figures as well. A conversion rate of 10% is much higher than most people achieve, so the reality is that the difference in the amount of commission you make from promoting both items is actually far greater in most cases. So hopefully you can see why promoting expensive products is much more lucrative than making lots of sales of less expensive items.

PostHeaderIcon List Building | Make Money With Affiliate Products And Your List

Once you have a list building, there’s no question that you can make a lot of money selling other people’s products. And there are a couple of good places where you can find the products to fit the niche where you’ve built your list. These services are great for sellers because the hard work of managing affiliates and creating a sales system are removed and handled by the online vending system, and they’re great for affiliates for the same reasons.
But it’s important to stick to affiliate products that fit your list. You never want to try to sell a quilting list something about Internet Marketing because they won’t have any idea what you want them to buy. It’s like trying to mix oil and water; it just won’t work, and if you do it, all you’re going to get are unsubscribes. Some services are better than others for what your particular list might want, so you may have to join more than one site to find the products you need to promote.
The sites have names you’ve probably heard before, like ClickBank, PayDotCom, and Commission Junction, but there are others out there. ClickBank has a wide variety of products that you might use and if you’re into quilting, for instance, there’s a crafts section with tons of interesting products. You don’t necessarily just have to sell only quilting products. You might sell crocheting items, scrapbooking, knitting, etc. because crafters often do multiple things, and this works the same with most other niches.
PayDotCom.com is good for an Internet Marketing list, as most of the affililate opportunities at PayDotCom are about Internet Marketing, though the site is growing daily.
Commission Junction deals more with big businesses and have clients like eBay, Crucial and Pfaltzgraf. You can sign up to become an affiliate for one of those. Just remember that it’s easy for people to walk into some of those places, so being an affiliate for somebody like Best Buy would be difficult. Yet, I can see a specific product working out. Like, say you have a list built around gaming. If you have a link from Best Buy to the new PS3 and send a great email to your list, you could do well. How well you do with any product depends on how well you target that product to your particular list.
If you still can’t find anything to sell, you can go to Google and type “affiliate program,” the little plus sign, and the topic of your list. A lot of sites will have a link at the bottom asking you to join their affiliate program.
The next thing you should do is choose four products that you can promote. Be as creative as you can. When you join those sites for free and choose to promote those products, you’ll be given a unique link. That link is your affiliate link that will track the people who buy, and show that they came from you.
When you get your affiliate link, oftentimes it will be very long. After you get your affiliate links for your four products, go to the TinyURL site. One at a time, you will pop that long affiliate link into the spot in TinyURL. It will pop out a very small link for you. You can use that link in the emails you are going to be sending out to your list.
Use a system of mailing to your list and following up, and you’re bound to make money. We’ll be adding more articles about making money with your list in the future, so keep watching!

PostHeaderIcon How to Legally Sell an Affiliate Product on Ebay

If you’re involved as an affiliate for any product, you’ve probably wrestled with how you can sell the product on eBay.

After all, eBay offers you a massive potential audience of 147 million members. And people who read about your product will likely have found it by searching thus saying they are interested in the product area in which your product resides.

The bad news, however, is that there is no easy way to market affiliate products on eBay!

First of all, if you haven’t heard of affiliate selling, here’s a very quick description of how it works.

Fundamentally, selling an affiliate product requires that you get interested buyers to click on a special link. This link takes the person to the product owner’s sales page. More importantly, the link also contains your unique affiliate code – it is this code which ensures that sales made from your introductions are recorded in your affiliate account. Finally, if your prospect purchases the product, it is the owner who handles product delivery and who also you with your sales commission payment.

On eBay, you could easily set up an auction saying how marvelous your affiliate product is. You will certainly attract a number of people who would be interested in buying. The problem is, you have no legitimate way of selling it to eBay members!

It’s against eBay’s rules to have a link in your auction page which takes your readers away to another website to make a sale.

Also, if you think about it, you don’t have the affiliate product to deliver. There’s no mechanism for you to make the sale on eBay, and deliver the product. If you recall, this is handled automatically by the product owner.

So here are two ways in which you can tap into the eBay market with your affiliate products.

1. The Simple System

You create an auction which explains the benefits of the affiliate product you’re promoting.

What do you offer on your eBay auction for the affiliate product?

You sell the information on where to get hold of this superb product. And you sell these details for just one penny.

Whenever someone “buys” your information, you send them an email saying thank you for your purchase. You then explain they don’t really need to send you a penny, and here is the link to the fantastic product in which they’ve expressed an interest.

Of course, the link is YOUR affiliate link.

By the way, in your auction description page please think of a new angle for the product. You’ll find almost everybody who is an affiliate for any popular product will be using the suggested sales material supplied by the product owner.

This means that you just appear to be one of many, and the standard sales pitch will be littering the internet. Your interested purchaser has probably seen some of these already. Why should they take notice of your one penny auction for the same product?

Lace your auction description with personal and credible information about the product, and you will get some of those prospective buyers to go with you.

Incidentally, you could find that your one penny auctions are removed by eBay. After all, a one penny auction doesn’t bring eBay very much by way of listing or final value fee.

If this happens to you, you could try system 2 below, and you can also place your one penny auction on other auction sites such as Yahoo, Amazon, QXL etc

2. The Not as Simple System

With this system, you need to do a little research before you launch your eBay auction for your affiliate product.

The objective here is to create a package of items which are related to your affiliate products, and which you auction at 0.99 cents or pence.

First off, you need to create a 2 or 3 page report about your affiliate product. Ideally this should be based on your personal experience with the product. Failing that, it should be written in your own personal style. The key point is that it must include your affiliate link to the product.

The next step is to find other items for your “package”, you do this by using Google search to locate related free products.

Let’s suppose you’re an affiliate for an eBook which teaches how to paint and draw figures. On Google you would search for something like “figure drawing” free.

It took me under 10 minutes to locate the following freebies:

Photographing Your Artwork (free eBook)

3D Figure Drawing Studio software (free trial)

How to Sell Your Art (free newsletter)

And there are many more you could unearth given a little more research time. Be a little careful in your selection – you don’t want to give away something which will compete with your affiliate eBook.

Having found your items, what you now do is bundle them up and add them to your 2/3 page report. You then create an auction which offers the whole package for 99 cents or pence.

There’s no way eBay can possibly object to this auction.

As you can see, all it really takes to get your affiliate product in front of eBay’s massive market place is a little creativity.

PostHeaderIcon Creating Residual Income With Affiliate Products

Affiliate marketing is a great, cheap and easy way to make money online. For those starting out in the world of internet marketing, promoting affiliate products is a great way to go.
To earn commissions on affiliate products, all you need to do is promote them, make the sales and earn the commissions.
You don’t need to have a fantastic knowledge of internet marketing to create your own products. You don’t have to do a ton of research to develop some amazing ebook or software product. The owner of the affiliate products has already done that, all you have to do is sell the products.
Easy right?
It is easy, and it’s a great way to earn some quick money. It’s a great way to earn long term money, but the problem with promoting affiliate products long term is that you are constantly doing the work promoting the product to get the sales.
Ultimately to make your home business runs smoother and with less effort on your part it would be good to have a residual income. A residual income is when you have a constant income stream coming in on its own. Having set up a certain aspect of your business to keep bringing in a stream of income.
There are a couple of strategies you can use to be able to create residual income with affiliate products.
The first strategy is to have a lead capture page so you can start building a marketing list of targeted prospects.
You can do this by offering them a free report or free ebook in exchange for them giving you their name and email address. Then you can set up your autoresponder with follow up messages. You can set up as many messages as you like and once set up they will automatically be sent out to your list on the days that you have it set up for.
By doing this your autoresponder continues to send emails to all your new customers that sign up through your lead page. With just a little bit of effort to set up your page and your autoresponder messages at the beginning, can be a low effort income maker for a long time to come.
You can promote not just one, but a number of different affiliate products to your email list over a period of time.
The best approach with an email list is to be personal, let your email customers get to know you without pushing new products down their throat with every email you send to them. Be gentle in your selling approach and earn their trust, then they will be more willing to buy from you.
Another way you can set up a residual income stream with affiliate products is to promote affiliate products that continue to pay a monthly commission.
These may be membership sites that if you refer people to join you will receive a monthly commission for as long as that person remains a member.
You can also use affiliate programs such as web hosting companies and autoresponder programs, some of which will also pay you a monthly commission for as long as your referral remains a member.
These types of affiliate programs are an amazing way to maximize your income by giving you a recurring income as opposed to a one-time sales commission.
Having a recurring income from a membership site is more reassuring for you also, as you will be reasonably sure of that income on a monthly basis, rather than being unsure as to whether you will make many one-time sales commissions.
Creating yourself a residual income is definitely worth doing to earn money long term without having to put in the constant effort for the long term.

PostHeaderIcon Earning an Income Online With Affiliate Products

Is there any wonder as to why so many people dream of working from home? When working a 9-to-5, they have to deal with bosses, traffic and worst of all, stress. In exchange for their efforts they will receive a paycheck, but at cost. They will lose time with their families along with their own sanity, at least when it comes to remaining at peace once they do get home.
Fortunately, there is a way out. If you know a little bit about Internet marketing, you could make a living promoting affiliate products. In fact, if you really know what you’re doing, it is possible to become a millionaire just with affiliate products.
So, how do you make money with affiliate products? Basically, all you are doing is promoting the wares another company is selling. To do this, you must advertise a unique URL… this is what connects the customer to your affiliate products. In turn, you earn a commission once the sale is completed.
Now, on paper, the process of advertising affiliate products sounds very simple. However, when it is put into practice, it can be a bit time-consuming. This is because you may need to write dozens of articles in order to drive traffic to your affiliate products’ URLs. The more you write the better, because they help give your site free exposure.
Of course, there are shortcuts. Consider Google’s Adwords program. With this site, you actually buy search engine placement by placing bids on popular Internet keywords. The higher your bid, the higher your placement within the listing. Just be aware that you will have to pay per click, which can get very expensive. The situation is even worse for keywords that cost more than $1. Indeed, if you do not play the Adwords game right, it’s possible you could be out thousands of dollars without ever making a dime in revenue.
You will have to decide if it’s really worth the trouble. Remember, article marketing doesn’t cost a dime… assuming you submit your articles to free directories. True, you will have to spend some time thinking about articles that relate to whatever affiliate product you’re promoting, but what’s easier… wasting time or wasting money? If you are like many working-class people, you’re probably more at ease sacrificing time.
But keep in mind, if you write articles around the right kinds of keywords, you won’t lose out as much, because from that point forward statistics take over. And, according to most Internet marketers, approximately 1% of all of your visitors should actually buy your affiliate products. So, if your articles generate 1,000 clicks, you should receive 10 sales. If you’re promoting an affiliate product that costs $50, that’s $500 in your pocket. And, since articles stay indexed forever, it’s possible you will receive that $500 every month without doing any extra work.
In conclusion, earning money from affiliate products isn’t a difficult thing. But it still remains elusive to many people mainly because they don’t put in the right amount of time. Take affiliate marketing seriously… write 100 articles for a popular product, and see if your efforts are in vain. If you follow the steps featured in this article, chances are you will be very happy with your results.

PostHeaderIcon Affiliate Products: keepng up with the Product cycle

You may not realize it, but this time of year (Spring time) is
prime earning season. It’s time to make some money to pay for
your upcoming summer holidays. So just what are you doing to
boost your business, and to stay up to date with what is going
on?

As an affiliate marketer, you need to be up to speed with the
right products. The right products means having the most current
ones. There is such a high turnover in products, that staying up
to date has become a challenge. New products are being released
at breakneck speed, every week sees a new high-powered program.

And they get more and more expensive. Most of the new releases
are not just ebooks, but rather massive collections on CD or
DVD, or are specialty products or programs. New membership sites
proliferate, and they cost anywhere from $29 to $100 per month.
Incredible.

The hot products being released cost from $200 to $1,000. The
promotions are so well orchestrated, and executed by the
powerhouse affiliates, that the products are gobbled up like
crazy. Of course, the products have great value and one can
learn a ton from them. But the prices really are reaching
heights never before seen.

Our biggest challenge is to get in as an affiliate in time to
promote them before the big guns gobble up all the sales. Well,
you just can’t. Unfortunately, if your list is not big enough,
you just don’t get an invitation to JV with the owners of these
new products. It is very frustrating. Makes you feel left out.
For now.. but in time, your turn will come.

Do I have an easy solution for you? Regretably, I do not. But
you should realize that the next step you must take, is to
continue to grow your mailing list, and as quickly as possible.
These things are never that fast, and it takes time to build
trust and rapport with your readers. But be patient, persevere,
and it will all come in due time.

Meanwhile, you need affiliate products to offer your people, so
you should accept the better ones available, products that are
not the over-priced high flyers, and that you can easily sign up
for as an affiliate. Here is an example:

Please go to Best Affiliate Products at my Best
Products tab. At the top you see a brand new section called the
Newbies Corner. Here you will find 2 brand new products on CD
specially targetted to newcomers who want to set up an online
business.

They both have affiliate programs, and you could promote these
products successfully. That are both reasonably priced, and
thats good for both your customers, and you as an affiliate.
Your clients don’t feel they are being taken advantage of, and
you still can make a fair commission on each sale.

I own ezWeb Business Builder, and find it well worth the price,
it really has terrific value. Not only do you get advice on what
to do, but you are also prompted to actually perform the task.
So it’s a real hands-on experience, and a unique concept. Kudos
to Jim Daniels.

The authors were smart enough to price them both reasonably,
because they realize newbies shouldn’t have to pay too much to
get started online. So sales are brisk, and you could do well
reselling these products. Furthermore, these products have the
potential to endure for many months, or more. Some new products
get promoted so hard, the market is saturated in no time.

I find it to be a great advantage when you own what you resell.
Of course you can’t buy them all, so you must choose carefully,
and fight the urge to overspend by buying everything that is
released.

To round out your affiliate portfolio, you also need to offer
products that are business basics, that business owners need to
operate their business. Web hosting services are a perfect
example, and you can see that I offer SBI on my Best Products
page. The beauty of this type of income is that it’s recurring.
You get your repeat commission every time a subcription is
renewed.

One more example I should give you, as to what you can sell. You
need the medium priced products from a winner like Corey Rudl. I
purchased his Insider Secrets course for $197. It sounds like a
lot, but the value is really there. And the 2005 Uprade version
was released in April.

They sent me 2 huge binders with all the lessons, plus 2 CDs,
plus other bonuses. One reason I bought it, is the advantage of
owning the product gives you the ability to write about it
intellegently. Giving your readers a full review is always a
good idea.

Another advantage in offering these medium priced products from
‘brand names’ like Corey Rudl or Jim Edwards, is that they are
well established winners. They pay a very good commission, and
the dollars add up fast. Just one sale of the Insider Secrets
course can make you $65 or more.

One final tactic for your affilate efforts, is to make a deal
with the product owner, and offer a discount for a limited time
or a limited quantity. You sometimes can have exclusive rights
to the special discount.

Again, an example… At my Best Products tab, at: Best Affiliate Products you can frequently see
super product promotions.

So, enough for now. You have my thoughts as to what type of
products to sell as an affiliate. Keep up the good work.

PostHeaderIcon Affiliate Products: Virtual Vs. Physical Merchandise

The concept of affiliate marketing was introduced in 1996 by the founder of Amazon. From then on, the idea became a hit for both businesses and Internet marketers. The concept of a person making money for promoting another company’s URL was ingenious because it created free advertising that would last pretty much forever, (or until the company went out of business).
Yet, for affiliates themselves, there is some work involved before they can see success. That’s why they must choose their affiliate products carefully. If they promote the wrong type of affiliate product they could be wasting a lot of time and money with their promotion efforts.
This leads to one question wondered by many beginning marketers… is it better to promote virtual affiliate products such as e-books and software, or is it better to promote physical affiliate products, such as televisions, books and other merchandise. Which one will lead to faster, more ‘guaranteed’ profits?
Well, the answer really depends on the affiliate product itself. Affiliate products that are virtual tend to be inexpensive vs. their physical counterparts. Why pay $25 for a printed book, when you can pay $5 for an ebook? With the ebook you get your information right now. But with a book, you must wait for it to ship out before you can read its contents.
However, this is not to say that physical affiliate products can’t be worthwhile. If you’re promoting merchandise from a company that charges significantly lower than retail, especially for more expensive items, you’ll end up making more money per sale.
To put it in perspective, say you promote $300 laptops. Compare this to a $5 guide that explains how you can get free laptops, (through survey programs, etc.). And let’s further say that the laptop program pays out $50 per sale, while the ebook pays out $2 per sale. Five hundred ebook sales would equal $1,000, while only 20 laptop sales are needed to make the same amount. So, when you look at the numbers, you can see the potential of physical affiliate products.
Yet, you must also keep in mind that currently we’re in a very bad economy. And while $300 is still really cheap for a laptop, the appeal of getting one for free is much more powerful, especially for someone who may have lost their job or is facing foreclosure. So, in this case that’s when the virtual affiliate product would win.
Of course, no matter what type of affiliate product you decide to promote, you must not forget that what ultimately matters is how you market it. You can’t expect an affiliate product to generate thousands of sales just because you put its URLs on your website. You must be willing to promote your affiliate products through article marketing, link exchanges and even buzz marketing. If you do this enough, eventually, you’ll bring in a ton of sales. It won’t even matter whether or not your affiliate products are virtual or physical. So, just remember that the next time you ponder which affiliate products you’re going to promote.
